A large, well-liked Nabq Bay family resort with the best kind of beach set-up for this stretch: a wooden pier that walks you over a shallow lagoon to the reef edge. This is the family listing; the adults-only Cleopatra is a separate hotel across the road that uses this beach by buggy. Book it for the beach, the pools and the staff; expect some tired furniture and nothing to walk to.

Know before you book

• The lagoon is knee-deep and rocky; the sea proper starts at the pier.
  → Reef shoes, swim from the pier, and accept that toddlers get the pools rather than the sea.
• Little within walking distance; every outing is a taxi.
  → Plan two evenings out and let the resort carry the rest; agree taxi fares in advance.
• Some rooms show worn furniture, and the spa's sales approach is pushy.
  → Ask for a refurbished room at check-in and say no once, firmly.

  The Staff And Grounds are the BEST.. but the rooms??

  All of the staff members I encountered were amazing. I intended to write down the names of those I encountered so I could name them specifically but forgot to do so. I remember Hamza from the tour desk. Salah, was one of the servers in the buffet restaurant. Inzo from one of the shops.. all were wonderful. As I said, I give the highest compliments to all of the staff.. these are just the names my forgetful memory retained. I loved the proximity to the beach and how there were plenty of areas to lie out in the shade. The grounds were immaculate and heavenly to just look at in awe.

  — I did NOT like my room. I don't know if I had an old room, but it was not to my standards. The ONLY reason I did not complain and request another room is because we had been traveling for 2 days and had arrived 6 hours too early to check in. I was too tired to fuss and just wanted a shower. I spent my first hour in the room cleaning (I carry lysol wipes when traveling). Even if the room was old, there is no reason it should not have been clean. There was mold in the floor tile and in the caulk around the sink. There were areas on the ceiling that was stained. The frosted glass door of the closet was worn out and looked like there were oil spots on it. The sink had not been cleaned at all. When I used a wipe, it was stained. The bottom of the exterior did not have any type of door sweep so there was enough space for bugs and lizards to crawl through. I did have a mini lizard crawl through, but saw no bugs. The room safe did not work properly and would not register the numbers (1) and (3). The patio curtain had stains on it. The furniture was old, stained and worn. I lived out of my suitcase because I didnt even want to put any of my clothes in any of the drawers.

  Unforgettable and lovely days which ran so fast

  I loved the staff at the reception which were so helpful: I would like to thank Reda and Ahmed Ali which made everything to help me. Thank you guys: you made my holiday special. I will never forget that!! 💝

  — The property is fantastic!! Food and drinks perfect, pools simply amazing, the Red Sea is wonderful and rooms are spectacular especially the Premium beach front. Go to the spa and do the Turkish bath with foam: superb!

  Perfect in everyway

  The location was great 👍 the food .resort has lots to offer all staff .specially the cleaner on the beach we're so good inkeeping the beach toilets spotless .there the one.s I tip because they go unnoticed..the coral snorkling was 10 out of 10 .definalty take your snorkel.

  — There drinks are weak and to sweet.and entertainment is naff
