Bisma Eight is a 38-suite hotel on Ubud's Bisma stretch, built around exposed concrete, dark wood and an infinity pool that faces straight into the jungle. Three suite categories — Garden, Canopy and Forest — share the same handcrafted wooden soaking tubs and contemporary-meets-Balinese design that earned the hotel a Michelin Key; Single and Double Bedroom Pool Villas add a private plunge pool for more space.

Dining runs across three venues: Copper Kitchen & Rooftop for treetop-view, borderless cooking; Mori, a ten-seat teppanyaki counter; and Embers, Mediterranean. There's no separate spa building — treatments come to your room instead — plus daily yoga and a small gym.

The design and the tub are the draw; the trade-offs are a small pool, a hotel that leans toward couples over families, and a fitness centre that won't satisfy serious training. The hotel driver, Mr Liong K was absolutely amazing! He was the first person to greet us at the airport upon our arrival to Bali and started out our trip making us feel very welcomed! Our room (and the cedar bath tub!) were beautiful and relaxing. Great central location to walk and enjoy Ubud. We would absolutely book the Bisma Eight in a heartbeat.
