Bali honeymoon hotels with a private pool
For a private pool on a Bali honeymoon, start with Viceroy Bali, Raffles Bali or Mandapa: at the first two every villa has its own pool (at Viceroy, book a room name that includes Pool), and Mandapa's riverfront villas sit right on the Ayung River. Below are 14 of the Bali hotels we review that have rooms with their own pool, ranked for two, with that room named as it appears at booking and the honest catch at each.

- valley viewpool in every villacouplesCurator's verdict
The most complete private-pool honeymoon on the valley side of the island: every villa has its own pool, and the view does the rest.
- Who it suits:
- Couples who want privacy and a view more than an evening stroll into town.
- Good to know:
- The site is hilly and golf carts don't remove every step. Reviews are mixed on Apéritif, the main restaurant, so plan some meals in the villa or in town.

A villa resort on a ridge above the Petanu Valley near Petulu, north of central Ubud: rice terraces below, jungle on both sides and Mount Agung on clear days. Viceroy's own site says all 40 villas have a heated private pool and floor-to-ceiling glass onto the valley. On the booking screen, pick a name with Pool: the 70 m² Junior Suite listing shows no pool.
Ask for the Terrace Pool Villa, 150 m² with its own pool and the valley view, the first category that gives you Viceroy's whole idea. It tops this list because the resort is designed for two; the catch is a hilly site with real distances to the restaurant, and central Ubud is a drive, not a walk.
- pool villasprivate beachno kids' clubCurator's verdict
The quietest option on the coast: built so you see almost no other guests during your stay.
- Who it suits:
- Honeymooners who want total privacy and a beach without leaving the resort.
- Good to know:
- Food draws mixed reviews and breakfast service reportedly stops at 10am sharp. Plan one dinner at Jimbaran's beach grills, a short taxi down the hill.

Thirty-two villas cascade down a hillside above Jimbaran Bay, each gated, with its own pool and garden, down to a private beach of soft sand and calm water. There's a 25-metre infinity pool at the top and no kids' club, only paid babysitting.
Book the One Bedroom Pool Villa, 470 m², the base category and already the full set-up: pool, garden, gate. It ranks high for privacy and for being 20 to 30 minutes from the airport. The weak spot is food: reviews flag inconsistent restaurant cooking for the price and a strict 10am end to breakfast service.
- riverfront villasbutlerrice paddiesCurator's verdict
The most full-service honeymoon on the list: a pool villa on the river and a butler who arranges the rest.
- Who it suits:
- Honeymoon and anniversary couples who want everything arranged for them.
- Good to know:
- A honeymooner in August 2026 found their villa pool too cold to use, so ask about it at check-in. Loungers at the main pool fill by mid-morning.

A Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Kedewatan, where rice paddies run through the grounds and the Ayung River curves below. Twenty-five private pool villas step down towards the water, the 35 suites and rooms above share the main pool, and every guest gets a butler on WhatsApp.
The room to book is the Riverfront Pool Villa, 430 m² directly on the Ayung. It earns its place with the butler and the celebration touches the resort arranges. Go in knowing the airport transfer takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours, central Ubud is 7 to 30 minutes by car, and the Mandapa Camp children's programme means some families.
- tented campdesignprivate poolCurator's verdict
The most memorable design here, paid for with some uphill walking.
- Who it suits:
- Couples who want a story and adult-paced evenings more than easy day trips.
- Good to know:
- Hilly, forested ground, and River Tents are the furthest from breakfast. There's no stated adults-only policy, but reviews say the mood suits couples more than young children.

A Bill Bensley-designed tented camp in Keliki village, north of Ubud, built around rice paddies and the Wos River: 22 one-bedroom tents and a two-bedroom Lodge, each with its own plunge or heated pool.
The River Tent has the most scenic spot by the Wos; the Terrace Tent, the same 173 m², spares you the uphill walk to breakfast. Evening campfires and an omakase dinner at Api Jiwa set an adult pace. The price is distance: about 90 minutes from the airport and a drive from everything else.
- plunge-pool villascalm beachnear airportCurator's verdict
The best single base if you want a private pool and a swimmable beach without changing hotels.
- Who it suits:
- Couples who want villa privacy and a calm sea close to the airport.
- Good to know:
- The kids' club runs 9am to 7pm and there are family villas, so children are on site. Ask for a villa near the main pavilion if you'd rather not walk the grounds in the heat.

A villa-only resort at the southern end of Jimbaran Bay where every villa has a gated entrance, its own plunge pool and a covered terrace. The private beach at Coconut Grove is calm sand, good for a swim, and the airport is about 20 minutes away.
The Villa (Jimbaran Bay) is 250 m² facing the bay; the Villa (Garden) is the same layout facing the gardens, for less. It's here because it does villa and beach in one place. The trade-offs: one of Jimbaran's pricier stays, long walks across the grounds, and the Umah Rare kids' club, so families are part of the mix.
- walk to ubudpool villasdesignCurator's verdict
The pick if you want a private pool and dinner in town on foot; the Pool Villas are about 500 m from the main hotel.
- Who it suits:
- Design-minded couples who want to walk into Ubud in the evening.
- Good to know:
- Only the Single and Double Bedroom Pool Villas have a private pool; the suites have a soaking tub, not a pool.

A 38-suite design hotel on Ubud's Bisma stretch, about ten minutes' walk from central Ubud, with a jungle-facing infinity pool and a Michelin Key. Every suite has a handcrafted wooden soaking tub; only the pool villas have a pool of their own.
The room you want is the Single Bedroom Pool Villa, 164 m² for two, with a private pool and hot tub. The Pool Villas sit about 500 m from the main hotel, its rooftop and restaurants. Reviews describe a couples-leaning stay, and children under two are reportedly discouraged. Downsides: a small shared pool, no spa building (treatments come to your room) and 1.5 to 2 hours from the airport.
- beachfrontocean-view suitescouples-focusedCurator's verdict
The Seminyak honeymoon: a quiet hotel, a lively street and a pool villa across the road.
- Who it suits:
- Couples who want a private pool and still want to walk to dinner and sunset bars.
- Good to know:
- If an ocean view matters more than a pool, book the One Bedroom Superior Suite Ocean View in the main building instead; it has no private pool.

Every suite at this all-suite Seminyak beachfront hotel faces the ocean, and a three-tier infinity pool steps down towards the sand. The private-pool villas aren't in the main building: they sit in a separate compound, The Club at The Legian Bali, just across from the hotel.
For a pool of your own you need the One-Bedroom Villa with Private Pool, 400 m² with its own garden. The Legian is here for its couples-focused calm, with Seminyak's restaurants and beach clubs a short walk away. The one catch: the villa isn't on the sand, and one reviewer found the beach red-flagged for their whole stay in September 2026.
- wellnessyogapool villasCurator's verdict
A calm, wellness-led valley hotel where a private pool doesn't mean the top category.
- Who it suits:
- Couples coming for yoga, the spa and a quiet valley.
- Good to know:
- The hotel calls itself kid-friendly, so children may be around. Expect steps between the lobby, restaurant and villas, and no lift.

Set on a hillside above the Tjampuhan Valley in Kedewatan, COMO Uma Ubud is built around wellness: thatched minimalist design, a COMO Shambhala spa and daily yoga. Smaller rooms share a garden pool; from the Garden Pool Villa up, every villa has its own plant-rimmed pool.
The Garden Pool Villa, 85 m², is the smallest category with its own pool and, on our page, the best-value villa with one. It's on this list for couples who want quiet and wellness. Expect steps across the site with no lift, and a shuttle rather than a walk into Ubud, about five minutes.
- walk to ubudvalley viewpool villaCurator's verdict
A bigger villa than Bisma Eight's, on the same Bisma stretch, with the same walk into town.
- Who it suits:
- Couples who want a private pool and dinner in Ubud without a taxi.
- Good to know:
- There's one restaurant on site, Indonesian only. Ubud Market and the Monkey Forest are closer to 20 minutes on foot.

A hillside hotel above the Campuhan river valley on Jalan Bisma, about ten minutes' walk from central Ubud, with an infinity pool over rice terraces and jungle. It mixes suites and private-pool villas, so you choose how much privacy to pay for.
Look for the One-Bedroom Pool Villa, 210 m², with its own pool, a sun deck and river-valley views. It's here for quiet nights and a walk to dinner. Downsides: a single on-site restaurant serving only Indonesian food, and a children's wading pool and family villas, so it isn't couples-only.
- beachfrontpool villasnear airportCurator's verdict
The small, easy beach option, 15 to 20 minutes from the airport.
- Who it suits:
- Couples who want a pool villa by the sand without big-resort scale.
- Good to know:
- Currents can bring litter onto this stretch, so the pool is the more reliable swim. There's a kids' pool and no gym.

Thirty-one cottage suites and 26 pool villas spread through gardens on the shore of Jimbaran Bay, 15 to 20 minutes from the airport. It feels more like a quiet beach house than a resort.
For a sea view you need the Beach View Pool Villa, with a pool and a sea-view terrace, and the hotel's factsheet lists only one, so book early; most rooms here face the garden. Being this close to the airport makes it an easy first or last night. Against it: currents sometimes leave the beach littered, a kids' pool draws families, and there's no gym.
- antiquesplunge poolcangguCurator's verdict
A honeymoon with a story: every suite is different, and several have their own pool.
- Who it suits:
- Couples who care more about atmosphere and art than a big resort.
- Good to know:
- Ask reception about the current route to the beach before planning beach days; seating around the shared pool is limited.

Twenty-two suites and villas on Batu Bolong beachfront in Canggu, each furnished around its own story with a real collection of Asian antiques. A recently built erosion-control wall has restricted direct access from the hotel to the beach.
The first room with its own pool is the Dedari Suite with Private Pool, 85 m², set in its own tropical garden with a plunge pool and an open-air sunken bath; the Walter Spies Pavilion and Puri Le Mayeur villas step up with a private dining pavilion. It suits couples who want character over polish; reviews mention street noise and rooms showing their age.
- gardensbeachfrontpool villasCurator's verdict
Old-school Seminyak calm, with a private pool if you pick a villa over the signature lanai room.
- Who it suits:
- Couples who want gardens and beach with Seminyak's restaurants on foot.
- Good to know:
- Reviews call the shared beachfront pool dated. Ask for a villa set back from the road if quiet matters.

A Seminyak beachfront hotel since the 1970s, set in 16 acres of mature gardens with 500 metres of sand, and about six minutes' walk from Seminyak Square. Thatched lanai rooms are the signature; some villa categories add a private pool.
A private pool means stepping up to a villa: the Luxury Villa Partial Ocean View with Private Pool, 200 m², has a dining pavilion and a balcony with a partial sea view. It's here for garden quiet with Seminyak close by. Against it: a Wi-Fi fee, road noise in some rooms, and kids' activities and babysitting that bring families.
- new hotelbeachfront villasbeach clubsCurator's verdict
The newest private-pool villas on the list, for couples who want Canggu's sunset bars close.
- Who it suits:
- Couples who want a new beachfront villa and Canggu's beach clubs on foot.
- Good to know:
- Not everything had opened at the latest update, so confirm the restaurants you care about before booking, and pre-book the airport transfer.

A Berawa beachfront resort open since December 2024, with suites that step onto a lagoon pool and one-bedroom villas with a private pool at the top of the range. Finns and La Brisa are a short walk along the beach.
The pool villas come two ways: the One-Bedroom Villa with Private Pool and Beachfront, 327 m², or the Garden View version at 220 m². It's on the list for new rooms and Canggu's beach clubs on foot. It isn't settled yet: restaurants and the kids' programme were still being finished, reviewers call rates high for Canggu, and the airport is about 20 km of slow road away.
- designtwo guests maxwalk to beachCurator's verdict
A design-led Canggu base for couples who'll spend their evenings out, not in.
- Who it suits:
- Couples who want art, music and the beach on foot more than resort calm.
- Good to know:
- Rooms have no kettle, tea or coffee, and coffee on site is pricey. Pack earplugs or ask for a suite away from the street.

Built around an art gallery, live music and a restaurant, this small design hotel sits on Jalan Batu Bolong in Canggu, about six minutes' walk from Batu Bolong Beach. There's no shared pool anywhere on the property.
The only room with a pool is the Suite with Private Pool, 80 m² for two, and every room type takes two guests at most, so the hotel isn't set up for families. It ranks last because of the street: guests report noise and thin walls, and one found the private pool didn't get enough sun.

About this list
We picked 14 of the Bali hotels we review that have rooms with their own pool. Each entry names that room as it appears at booking. The ranking is about how well a hotel works for two: a pool in every villa, couples-first design and no kids' club count in its favour; pools in only some categories, children around, street noise or a hotel still finding its feet count against it.
Six of the fourteen are in and around Ubud and eight are on the coast, so most honeymoons here pair one of each. Valley villas give you the view and the quiet. Jimbaran gives you a calm bay near the airport, while Seminyak and Canggu put restaurants and beach clubs within walking distance.
Before you pay, check three things: that the room name says Pool, how far your villa is from the restaurant on a hillside site, and what your rate covers. The meal plan varies by rate; you see what is included on the booking screen before you pay. Rooms are confirmed after payment.
Ubud or the coast? Planning a private-pool honeymoon in Bali
Ubud: valley villas, no beach
Six of these hotels are in and around Ubud, most on river valleys: the Ayung at Mandapa, the Petanu below Viceroy, the Wos at Capella, the Campuhan below Komaneka. You get rice terraces, jungle and quiet nights, but no beach and little nightlife. Most are a drive from central Ubud; Bisma Eight and Komaneka at Bisma are the two you can walk into town from, in about ten minutes; Bisma Eight's Pool Villas sit about 500 m from its main building.
The coast: Jimbaran, Seminyak or Canggu
Jimbaran is the calm one: villa resorts on a sandy bay, 15 to 30 minutes from the airport, with seafood grills on the sand a short taxi away. Seminyak puts restaurants and beach clubs within walking distance of The Legian and The Oberoi. Canggu is the surf coast: Batu Bolong and Berawa are lively, scooters fill the roads, and the sea is for surfing more than swimming.
On the list:The Legian Seminyak Jimbaran Puri, a Belmond Hotel The Oberoi Bali
How many nights where?
On a week or longer, split it: a few nights in Ubud first, then the coast. Our own five-night Ubud plan stays in one hotel on purpose, because the south coast is 1.5 to 3 hours away by road and too far for an easy day trip. As of October 2026, Turkish citizens can stay in Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days, and that can't be extended.
Getting between areas
By car, not on foot: a taxi or a car your hotel arranges. A transfer operator's estimates from the airport, checked in October 2026, are 30 to 45 minutes to Seminyak, 1 to 1.5 hours to Canggu and 1.5 to 2 hours to Ubud, and even Canggu to Seminyak can take 30 to 45 minutes in traffic. Mandapa's advice works for any Ubud transfer: leave early in the morning or after 4pm.
On the list:Mandapa
Rainy season and when to go
Rainfall data split the year into a wetter November to March, at 150 to 390 mm a month, and a drier April or May to October, with August the driest month. July 2025 was the busiest month in the arrival figures we checked, with 697,110 foreign visitors. Don't plan a flight on Nyepi, Monday 8 March 2027, when the island stays indoors and the airport closes for the day.
Questions before you book
Which Bali hotels have a private pool in every room?
Raffles Bali, Capella Ubud and Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay: every villa or tent there has its own pool. Viceroy Bali's own site says the same of all 40 of its villas, but the booking list also shows a 70 m² Junior Suite with no pool mentioned, so pick a room name with Pool. Mandapa, COMO Uma Ubud, Komaneka and Jimbaran Puri have a pool in every villa but also sell rooms or suites without one, so check the room name before you pay.
How do we make sure our room has its own pool?
Book by room name, not by hotel. Look for the names on this page, such as Garden Pool Villa at COMO Uma Ubud or Suite with Private Pool at The Slow. COMO Uma Ubud's Ubud and Terrace Rooms share a garden pool, Bisma Eight's suites have a soaking tub rather than a pool, and The Legian's ocean-view suites have none.
Are any of these hotels adults-only?
No. Raffles Bali comes closest, with no kids' club, and every room at The Slow sleeps two at most. Bisma Eight reportedly discourages children under two and The Legian restricts under-12s at its adult lap pool, while Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay runs a kids' club from 9am to 7pm.
How many nights in Ubud and how many on the beach?
On a week or longer, a few nights in an Ubud valley first, then the coast. Ubud to the south coast is 1.5 to 3 hours by road, so don't plan beach day trips from a valley villa. With only a few nights, pick one base: Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay gives you a pool villa and a calm beach together.
Is the rainy season a bad time for a Bali honeymoon?
Not bad, but wetter. Rainfall data show 150 to 390 mm a month from November to March, against a drier April or May to October. The sea is warmest then, about 29.4 °C in December. If you go in March 2027, keep your flights off Nyepi, Monday 8 March, when the airport closes for the day.
Which private-pool hotel is closest to the airport?
Jimbaran Puri (15 to 20 minutes) and Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay (about 20), then Raffles Bali at 20 to 30. The Ubud villas are further: about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes for Viceroy and COMO Uma Ubud, and up to 2.5 hours for Mandapa. A last night in Jimbaran makes the flight home easier.
Are meals included in the rate?
The meal plan varies by rate; you see what is included on the booking screen before you pay. Some room names at these hotels mention extras, so read the rate details rather than the room name.
Do we need a visa for a Bali honeymoon?
Not if you hold a Turkish passport and stay up to 30 days: as of October 2026 Turkish citizens are visa-exempt in Indonesia, Bali included, with no extension. UK and German visitors, and as far as we found other EU ones, use the 30-day visa on arrival (IDR 500,000). Everyone pays the Bali tourist levy of IDR 150,000 per person once per trip, easiest at lovebali.baliprov.go.id, and fills in the free All Indonesia declaration in the 3 days before landing.
