//Jaz Elite Palace
The quiet adults-only (16+) choice on Sharm El Maya bay: a sandy, walk-in beach, a calm older crowd, and the Old Market a few minutes on foot. There is no house reef; the hotel runs a boat to its coral for a fee. Book it for the beach and the walkability, not for snorkelling off the shore.
Jaz Elite Palace, formerly Iberotel Palace, sits directly on Sharm El Maya bay at the old end of town, next to the Old Market rather than the Naama Bay strip. That decides who it suits. It is adults-only from 16, 263 rooms, and the beach is sand: fine, clean, a gentle slope you walk into, with turtles grazing the sandy bottom. There is no coral in front of the hotel; the house reef is reached by shuttle boat for a charge.
The mood is calm. Reviewers describe an older crowd, attentive staff, no sunbed wars and evenings that end early. Dining is the main buffet at La Coupole plus à la carte restaurants, Bluemarine and Ali Baba among them, and the à la carte is what gets praised. There is a spa with hammam, steam room and sauna. Meal plan varies by rate.
The cons are consistent: buffet food that disappoints some, air conditioning that struggles in peak summer, small shallow pools, the call to prayer, and recent construction noise on the beach. The airport is about 18 km, a longer transfer than Sharks Bay. If you want a reef off the sand, DoubleTree Sharks Bay; if you want a livelier adults-only, Pickalbatros Royal Grand on the hill above Hadaba.
-The staff were really helpful and always looked for solutions to accommodate our requests. We were always greeted with warm smiles and friendly service :) -Whenever we had an excursion, guards recorded car plates and received phone numbers of the drivers for our safety. -The food was delicious, and we were very satisfied with the variety offered at each meal. -The room was spacious and clean. Special thanks to the housekeeping team for their attentive and excellent service.
— The bartenders could improve the variety of cocktails they offer, especially when it comes to classic cocktails. They do the basics well, but a wider selection would make the experience even better.
the stuff was amazing, they were really helpful, the room was really big, comfy and clean, facilities were really good.
— The food was average, and there were no sealed bottles of still water in the room. Drinking the tap water made us sick during our stay. Even if you ask for a sealed bottle of water, they bring you tap water in their own bottles instead. So, I recommend buying your own bottled water.
- The service is amazing! Every member of the staff is very nice and attentive - The food in the main restaurant was OK. Not great, not bad - I liked that there were two main restaurants for breakfast/lunch/dinner, one is much quieter and closer to the sea - By the way, the beach is soo close to the rooms! It’s amazing - Nice activities every day in the morning and in the evening
— We had to go to the reception every single day to fix the cards of our room because they stopped working all the time. Ir was very annoying:( The food in the Toscana restaurant was awful
Yes. Guests must be 16 or over; under-16s are not accepted. The crowd skews older and calm, and reviewers describe a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere.
A private sandy beach on Sharm El Maya bay with a gentle walk-in entry and no reef shoes needed. There is no house reef; the hotel takes guests by boat to its coral reef for a fee, and reviewers mention turtles feeding in the sandy shallows.
The hotel gives 18 km, one of the longer Sharm transfers. An airport shuttle is available for a charge if booked ahead; otherwise pre-book a car or agree a taxi fare before leaving the terminal.
Superior Queen or Twin Bed Sea View for most couples. Junior Suite Queen Bed Sea View (52 sqm) for a honeymoon. Garden view is the saving if you live on the beach.
The Old Market and Al Sahaba Mosque are a few minutes on foot. Naama Bay is a taxi ride, and the nightlife is there, not here.

36 sqm with a view across Sharm El Maya bay, which is the reason to be here; garden rooms face away from it. Sea-view Superior is the sweet spot before suite prices, and it sleeps up to three.
Value pick:Superior Queen or Twin Bed Garden View — the same room at a lower rate; fine if you spend the day on the beach anyway.

The one Sharm hotel where the Old Market is a stroll, not a taxi; TripAdvisor lists it at 4 minutes. Go after sunset for the lanes behind the mosque and dinners that cost less than Naama Bay.

The shore reef the hotel does not have, on the next headland south. Take your own mask and snorkel, and go for the last two hours of light.

The lookout over Old Sharm and the bay you swim in. Worth the detour for the photo on the way to or from Ras Um Sid.
