JAZ Fanara Resort stands on the cliff at Ras Um Sid, on El Fanar street beside the lighthouse, about 21 km from the airport at the southern end of Sharm. This is the part of the coast with the shore reefs, and the hotel's is a good one: a sandy beach in a sheltered bay at the bottom of around 60 steps, a coral shelf straight off the sand, fish from the first few metres.
