//Regent Bali Canggu
A brand-new Berawa beachfront resort, open since December 2024: suites step straight onto a lagoon pool, and one-bedroom villas add a private plunge pool at the top of the range. Book it for the lagoon-access rooms and easy reach of Canggu's beach clubs. Some restaurants and family programming were still filling in as of the latest updates, so it's not yet a fully settled operation.
Regent Bali Canggu opened on Berawa's beachfront in December 2024, and it still shows: rooms are new, several suites open straight onto a lagoon pool, and one-bedroom villas add a private plunge pool at the top of the range. Six restaurants and bars are planned across the property — Sazón for Mediterranean food, Taru for Indonesian, Beach House for seafood and cocktails — though not everything, including a second signature restaurant, had opened as of the latest updates.
What guests notice most, per reviews, is the staff: repeated mentions of being remembered by name, a general manager who checks in personally, and a breakfast spread that holds up over a multi-night stay. The lagoon-access suites get singled out too, for the simple reason that the water is right there.
The trade-offs are what you'd expect from Berawa. It's about 20 km from the airport on Canggu's often-slow coast road, so plan the transfer rather than hail a taxi at the curb. Room rates sit toward the higher end for Canggu, not the low end, and family programming was still filling in as the hotel found its footing. For the beach-club side of Canggu — Finns and La Brisa's sunset crowds — it's a short walk or scooter ride from your room, not a taxi trip. Meal plan varies by rate.
The hotel is brand new, so everything feels fresh and modern. You can make the room bigger by sliding out the bathroom partition. The toilet is equipped with bidet, which is neat. We got the oceanview and the weather in late August was breezy, so we would sometimes switch off the A/C, open the balcony and feel the ocean breeze at a comfortable 23 deg. C. The staff was so attentive - there is an open WhatsApp channel where you can text them for things like water bottles. It takes 5mins to walk to Batu Bolong Beach (Motel Mexicola, The Lawn Beach Club) and within 10mins walk to Meimei, Spring Spa, Gigi Susu and Milk & Madu, and about 15mins walk to our favourite restaurant, Sensorium. The traffic condition didn't feel as bad within this 10mins walking radius, so it wasn't stressful to walk along the curb compared to other hot spots like Ubud and Seminyak.
— Nothing. Everything was incredible.
— Our ground floor room was adjacent to the driveways with regular passing traffic and lack of privacy. Not enough selection of meals on breakfast menu.
The hotel staff was very accommodative and helpful even with our late check-ins.
— I might try a different room with a nice view next time.
No. It runs a Regent Kids program and offers family suites, though the full kids' club experience was still being rolled out as of the latest updates — worth checking current hours for your dates.
It's a Berawa beachfront property with direct lagoon access from select suites and a main lagoon pool; some villas add a private plunge pool. The beach itself is open sand, not a swim-in reef.
About 20 km. Canggu's roads can be slow, so a pre-booked private transfer is a better bet than a walk-up taxi.
The One-Bedroom King Suite with Lagoon Access for the terrace-to-water setup; the King Studio Suite with Lagoon Access is the same idea in a smaller footprint for two.
Berawa's Finns Beach Club and La Brisa are a short walk or scooter ride along the same stretch of coast, and Echo Beach's surf break is a quick scooter ride further on. Beach club tables and beds are booked separately, not through the hotel.

This is the suite the resort is really built around: a separate living area at 87 m² with a terrace that steps down to the lagoon pool, so the sunset walk to Finns or La Brisa starts and ends at your own door.
Value pick:King Studio Suite with Lagoon Access — the same lagoon-edge terrace in one room instead of two, at 76 m².
The crowd builds through the afternoon and peaks right at sunset, when the tables closest to the horizon are the first to be reserved.
A calmer pool-and-lounge scene than Finns next door — good for a swim before dinner rather than the main sunset event.
Worth the trip at sunset just to watch the surfers; board-rental stalls line the sand and don't need booking ahead.
