The Mulia is the all-suite part of the Mulia estate on Geger Beach in Nusa Dua, with big suites, a butler, and a pool and lounge kept for its own guests. The shared estate around it is busy, with queues and extra charges. Book a beachfront Baron suite and spend your days on the private side.

The Mulia is the all-suite part of the Mulia estate in Sawangan, Nusa Dua, which also holds the larger Mulia Resort and the pool villas of Mulia Villas. All 111 suites have a balcony or terrace with a Jacuzzi, and a butler is on call around the clock. In front runs Geger Beach, about a kilometre of calm sand facing the sunrise.

What the premium buys is a private layer. The Oasis and Aqua pools are kept for The Mulia and Mulia Villas guests, and so is The Lounge, which serves breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. Everything else is shared: Soleil on the beach, The Cafe's buffet, Table8 for Cantonese, Edogin for Japanese, a spa with an Ice Room and sauna, two tennis courts and kids' clubs for ages 3-12. Meal plan varies by rate; you see what is included on the booking screen before you pay.

The shared parts are where the complaints start. Reviewers in 2026 describe queues at The Cafe, sunbeds gone before noon and extras that add up, and the hotel holds IDR 2,000,000 per night on your card. The sea turns shallow at low tide. Book a beachfront Baron, spend your days at the Oasis Pool and leave the estate once, for sunset at Uluwatu.

Book it if…

Couples on a splurge — Suites of 105-130 m² with a terrace Jacuzzi and a 24-hour butler.
Pool-day people — The Oasis and Aqua pools are kept for The Mulia and Mulia Villas guests.
Food-focused travellers — Mediterranean, Cantonese and Japanese restaurants plus a big buffet on one estate.

Skip it if…

Crowd-averse travellers — Shared restaurants have queues at peak times, and sunbeds go before noon.
Tight budgets — Extras add up, and a deposit is held on your card for every night.
Families with children — The suites we list sleep two; families should look at Mulia Resort.

Know before you book

The shared estate is busy: in 2026 reviewers reported 15-20 minute queues at The Cafe and sunbeds gone before noon.
→ Eat at The Lounge and swim at the Oasis or Aqua pools, which only The Mulia and Mulia Villas guests can use.
Extras add up quickly, and the hotel holds IDR 2,000,000 per room per night on your card at check-in.
→ Bring a card with enough room on its limit; the hold is released at check-out, minus what you spent. Room charges also carry a 10% service charge plus tax.
At low tide the water off Geger Beach turns very shallow.
→ Ask reception when the tide is high and swim then. The Oasis Pool covers the rest of the day.

We had a wonderful experience at the Mulia Suites. Would highly recommend to friends and family. Extremely attentive service. The facility is clean and comfortable. The staff go above and beyond for you to make sure you are comfortable and have what you need at all times. Enjoyed the pool, the room, and all the restaurants. They have buggies to take you from one facility to the other at any hour of the day/night. When we arranged for a driver to take us from the hotel back to the airport, there was somebody from the Mulia at the airport as we got out of the vehicle and assisted us with our baggage to the check-in point. We couldn’t ask for better service! Stay at the Mulia suites. You will not be disappointed!

Everything magnificent
Certainly one of the most luxurious places we’ve ever stayed, wonderful breakfast and high tea lunch, all that. But the most incredible thing was the staff. Now I don’t know. It was our first stay in Bali. Maybe the whole island’s that way but the Mulia was clearly exceptional - vibe-wise.

Exceptional friendly and very helpful staff. Brilliant buffet and Al Le Carte breakfast. The buffet restaurant was very spacious, with so much food to choose from. For Al Le Carte, the staff was very welcoming in serving you had lots of choice to pick from the menu. Our stay also included the afternoon tea, which had free flowing drink for 2 hours! The room we booked was ocean facing beach access which is literally facing the ocean with no obstructed view. The three pool wasn’t busy at all (maybe it was off peak season). The beach and the walk way along it was also very clean. I would recommend The Mulia to anyone for its luxury and friendliness. In peaceable food and great pool and beach location.

Questions before you book

Is The Mulia adults-only?

No, but it is the quietest part of the estate, and the suites we list sleep two. The kids' facilities are on the shared estate: Mulia Kidz for ages 3-8 and Mulia Kidz Explorer for 8-12, both open 9am-6pm, plus a splash pool for ages 3-12. Families with children are better placed at Mulia Resort in the same compound.

What is the beach like at The Mulia?

Sand and calm water: The Mulia sits on Geger Beach, about 1 km long and facing the sunrise. You walk straight in from the sand. At low tide the water gets very shallow, so plan your swims around the tide.

How far is The Mulia from the airport?

About 25 minutes by car, longer in heavy traffic. The hotel arranges airport pickups for a fee, or you can take a taxi.

Which room should I book at The Mulia?

Junior Suite, Oceanfront (Baron Ocean Suite): 105 m², a Jacuzzi on the terrace and the beach in front. Junior Suite, Garden View (Baron Garden Suite) is the same suite facing the garden. For more space, the Earl suites, listed as Luxury Suite, add 25 m² and a living area.

What can you walk to from The Mulia?

Only the beach and Pura Geger, the small temple on the cliff above Geger Beach. Everything else is a taxi ride: Kuta Beach and Uluwatu Temple are 12-16 km away as the crow flies. The estate's restaurants, such as Soleil, Table8 and Edogin, cover most evenings.

Is The Mulia a good choice in the rainy season?

Yes, because there is plenty to do under a roof. Bali's wetter season runs from November to March, with 150-390 mm of rain a month, and August is the driest month. On wet days use the spa's Ice Room, sauna and hydrotherapy pools, and walk carefully on wet tiles and stairs.
