Expect stairs, buggy queues and crowds in season, and a taxi to reach Naama Bay. Book a Premium Sea View room and treat the reef as the main event.
Renaissance Golden View sits on Om El Seid hill at the southern tip of Sharm, above 350 metres of private beachfront, with 384 rooms terraced down towards the water. It opened in 2003; listings show a 2021 refresh. Three named pools, a water slide, a kids' club, the Planet Spa and a dive centre fill the tiers, with the Coast buffet, La Casa for Italian and Calamari for seafood.
The reason to book is the reef. The jetty drops you onto coral with stingrays, lionfish and, on a good day, a turtle, and reviewers warn about the current as much as they praise the fish. Ras Um Sid's shore reefs, some of Sharm's best, are a walk away, and Old Sharm's market is ten minutes by taxi.
The trade-offs are physical. It is a hillside resort with many stairs; buggies run but queue at busy times, and the pools are shallow. Reviews call it crowded in high season and the entertainment limited. If you want to walk to a strip, Naama Bay is about 20 minutes by taxi, and Stella Di Mare or Novotel would suit better. We had a lovely 10-day family holiday at this resort. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. The resort was clean and well maintained. Our room was comfortable, the food was good, and we enjoyed the pool and relaxed atmosphere. The staff were especially helpful with our elderly family members, which we really appreciated. We would also like to give special thanks to the restaurant manager for his excellent service and for leading such a friendly and attentive team. His dedication and the great service provided by the restaurant staff made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday enjoyable. We would happily return and recommend this resort to other families.

One is heated: the hotel lists La Rotunda as its heated pool. As of October 2026 all three pools (Calamari, Aqua and La Rotunda) close at 16:30 and have lifeguards on duty; La Rotunda opens at 07:30, the other two at 08:00.
