The black-sand beach of Amed, lined with jukung, the colourful outrigger boats fishermen still use. Walk it in the late afternoon, when the light softens and the boats come in. Sunbeds and snorkel gear can be rented on the beach.
My long beach walks start here. It’s so beautiful to get up at 5:30 and watch the sunrise. I can’t get enough of it.
The plan that stops here
A curator note — a personal recommendation, not a bookable product. Not automatically included in any stay or experience.
A small design hotel built around an art gallery, live music and a restaurant; there is no shared pool, and only the top suite category has its own. The beach is about six minutes on foot; light sleepers should factor in street noise and thin walls.
Prices and availability are checked live before booking.
