The restaurant and pool of Uluwatu Surf Villas, on Jalan Pantai Suluban, high on the cliffs above the ocean. The menu has seafood, chicken and beef cooked with Indonesian spices. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is open to non-guests. The main dining room is upstairs, with a more casual menu by the infinity pool.
Dinner on the cliff with the ocean below. Book a table with a view and sit down before the sun starts to drop. You don't need to stay at the villas to eat here. It's a drive from most places, so sort out your ride back before dinner.

A small design hotel built around an art gallery, live music and a restaurant; there is no shared pool, and only the top suite category has its own. The beach is about six minutes on foot; light sleepers should factor in street noise and thin walls.
