One of Bali’s six most important temples, on the slopes of Mount Lempuyang and home of the well-known gates. A shuttle takes you up from the parking area and there is an entrance fee. Shoulders and knees must be covered; sarongs are available at the entrance. Come early: the queue for the photo at the gates grows quickly after sunrise.
A living temple first, a photo spot second.
The plan that stops here
A curator note — a personal recommendation, not a bookable product. Not automatically included in any stay or experience.
A small design hotel built around an art gallery, live music and a restaurant; there is no shared pool, and only the top suite category has its own. The beach is about six minutes on foot; light sleepers should factor in street noise and thin walls.
Prices and availability are checked live before booking.
